Hello, I’m Olivia
I work as a project manager. A parent. An expat based in Mountain View, United States.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to United States wasn't in the long-range plan. Similar to many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were demanding—fresh systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Transition Phase
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of learning on the job. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began constructing something that felt steady.
Why I Created Mav Quel Lorin
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourist content. What was lacking was a sincere, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in United States.
